At SIGNiX, we’re excited to celebrate our 15th anniversary this year, having launched our innovative, PKI-based Independent E-Signature™ solution in 2002. Digital signature adoption has grown over the years, and we’re proud to be the industry pioneer and leading provider of easy-to-trust and easy-to-use cloud-based digital signatures.
Over the past 15 years, SIGNiX has emerged as the vendor of choice for executing confidential and sensitive documents in highly regulated industries.
Our technology boasts numerous features that have helped establish us as a leader in the digital signature space, including:
Worldwide and industry compliance
In July 2016, the Electronic Identification and Trust Services (eIDAS) regulation—a European ruling on electronic signatures and transactions—was introduced to businesses in Europe and around the world with a clear preference for digital signatures. eIDAS allows individuals and businesses across the European Union to use digital signatures, seals, timestamps and registered deliveries across national borders while carrying the same legal weight as their physical counterparts.
Our easy-to-use technology is compliant with the most demanding laws and industry regulations that go beyond the minimum requirements of the ESIGN Act and UETA. Among the many regulatory requirements we meet are: the FDA’s 21 CFR Part 11, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the U.S. Department of Education's 34 CFR 99.30. Our compliance standards are a primary reason why companies ranging from financial services to healthcare select us as their digital signature provider of choice. They know they can rely on us when seeking a solution that provides enhanced productivity and efficiency, while ensuring their data is secure and their legal evidence is compelling and permanent.
Independence and robust security
SIGNiX technology is fundamentally different from the simple e-signature products on the market because it permanently embeds cryptographic information and legal evidence directly into signed documents using public key infrastructure (PKI). With our platform built on published, international standards, our customers are assured that their documents will be valid decades into the future, no matter how technology changes and with no dependence on SIGNiX for future verification.
And that’s why they’re called Independent E-Signatures™—because you own the evidence behind each document and are not dependent on a vendor for verification. For added security, we also offer digital shredding, a process that destroys our copies of documents without a trace of metadata, giving you peace of mind that your sensitive information is completely under your control.
Comprehensive audit trails
E-signatures are legally binding, just like handwritten signatures, but some digital signatures are better equipped to withstand being challenged in court than others. With SIGNiX, every step in a document's lifecycle is recorded in a highly detailed audit trail known as TotalAudit™—a powerful event log that provides comprehensive information about the transaction and every signature. This log accompanies the document and will help you prove a document’s validity if it is ever questioned.
Tamper evidence and tamper proofing
SIGNIX digital signatures offer cybersecurity protection options that significantly reduce a company’s risk of fraud, both internal and external. One example is tamper-evident technology, which indicates if any unauthorized changes have been made to a document. Additionally, you can incorporate protection that is both tamper evident and tamper proof.
Signer identification options
SIGNiX’s cybersecurity protection options also include a variety of ways to prove the identity of your signers. From a simple email or text message with a one-time passcode to more advanced methods, such as knowledge-based authentication, you can customize the identity authentication options for each of your signers every time a document is signed. This gives you peace of mind that only authorized and confirmed users can access or sign a document.
We're excited to see the market recognize that cloud-based digital signatures offer compelling benefits, and we’re proud of our early leadership in offering the first solution of this type. From the beginning, we could see the need for a platform that would stand the test of time, would be compliant in highly regulated industries and would be secure against increasing cyber threats. And we are continually adding new capabilities to our technology to be ready for future needs. SIGNiX has been offering cloud-based digital signatures for a very long time, and we are excited about what the next 15 years and beyond will bring as market demands evolve.
