We love seeing our clients and partners in the news – especially when it’s about their use of e-signatures.baseline

Most recently, Baseline published a piece spotlighting San Diego County, California’s e-signature program, which launched with tremendous success. The county began using SIGNiX’s Independent E-Signatures™ for select government transactions in 2013. Today, the county lets citizens submit residential change of address, business change of address and business change of ownership forms online.

By converting these forms to a digital format that incorporates the use of e-signatures, San Diego County streamlined its processes and made interactions more convenient for citizens, not to mention more cost effective. The county saves more than $93,000 per year using our Independent E-Signatures™.

Rolf Bishop, San Diego County’s chief deputy of systems and CIO for San Diego County’s Assessor, Recorder, County Clerk’s Office, said in the Baseline article, “The vision was to convert paper into electronic documents so that people could take care of important matters without having to print a form, sign it, get into the car, drive to an office, pay for parking, stand in line and then take care of the matter…We wanted to introduce the ability [for citizens] to handle various tasks from their home or on a mobile device."

The article goes on to explain how e-signatures reduced traffic and congestion and how the county achieved a breakeven ROI within just three months. For anyone thinking about e-signatures for government, this is a must-read.
