breakup with bank resized 600One credit union says that Valentine’s Day might be a good time to break up with your bank.

McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union released a survey that shows more than 70 percent of Americans would break up with their bank if they were offered a better option.

The poll, which surveyed more than 1,000 people who weren’t credit union members, had the following results:

  • More than 25 percent of women surveyed picked “I Can’t Make You Love Me” as the love song that best described how they feel about their bank
  • 36 percent said dealing with their bank is like a bad relationship with their in-laws
  • 73 percent of survey participants ages 18 to 29 wanted to learn about a new banking option
