SIGNiX announced today that we will be speaking along with the County of San Diego’s CIO, Rolf Bishop, during the AIIM Conference April 26-28 in New Orleans, LA.  The presentation will include highlights from the County of San Diego’s nationally recognized and award winning e-signature program.

AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management) is a global, non-profit organization that provides independent research, education and certification programs to information professionals. The AIIM Conference offers three days of interactive sessions, focusing on topics like automating business processes to save time and money, how to protect and secure information with governance and insight to understand and engage customers and employees.

Rolf BishopRolf Bishop will be speaking at AIIM on April 27, 2016 about his county government’s online overhaul. By digitizing the paper form, integrating digital signatures and implementing workflows to handle processing, the County of San Diego is saving $230,000 per year.

“The experience has been outstanding. In just the past few months, we’ve received multiple awards for our e-signature program, like the Center for Digital Government’s Digital Government Achievement Award for our online homeowners’ exemption process, which includes using e-signatures,” said Bishop. “It is my hope that these accolades help to share our story and successes so that others in the government sector will consider developing their own digital processes.

In 2013, the County of San Diego worked with SIGNiX to implement an e-signature pilot program for 3,000 change-of-address forms, and immediately received positive responses from employees and citizens because of the ability to quickly and easily handle government processes online.

Today, the County of San Diego utilizes e-signatures for the homeowners’ exemption form— a form the county processes for up to 36,000 residents each year, the Business Change of Address and Business Change of Ownership processes, and e-forms for the Proposition 8 form for monetary exemption on property taxes. Using e-signatures for just these five forms saves the county approximately $230,000 each year in labor costs and in paper-related expenses, San Diego County Savingslike ink, paper and postage.

“We saw an ROI on digital signatures within months, not years,” said Bishop.

Paige Adams, SIGNiX business development executive, will be joining Bishop on stage to answer questions about the security, ease of implementation, ROI and legality of SIGNiX’s Independent E-Signatures™.
