A lawsuit filed last month claims that a former CEO of the Ukranian National FCU suffered a heart attack and defaulted on her mortgage loan because of discrimination and retaliation for reporting regulatory violations.

Christine Balko claims that the New York-based credit union’s board was upset that she reported federal regulatory violations to the NCUA and got revenge against her.

According to the lawsuit, within a year of reporting the violations in the spring of 2009, Balko’s position was eliminated and the board hired a new CEO. However, Balko rejoined the credit union and was elected to the board in 2010. Click here to read more.
