An off-duty police officer shot and killed an armed robber at a Virginia Beach credit union on Saturday morning, according to Credit Union Times.

The officer was at the Chartway Federal Credit Union branch on personal business when a man came into the credit union wearing a mask, dark clothes and gloves. The man was holding what appeared to be a gun.

Six employees and two credit union members witnessed the incident. Police declined to identify the officer but said that he was from the Portsmouth, Va., police department.
